#TahiniTogether Week 2 Update


Week 2

Week two of our crowdfunding campaign came and went. It was another busy week, with plenty of activities and events! We’ve reached 17% of our goal! We want to humbly thank everyone who’s already contributed to the campaign, shared our mission, and/or has participated at an event. Great things happen when we TahiniTogether!

This past week, Sesamaise Founder Cecilia Sibony sat down for an interview on the Founder By 30 podcast. In the podcast, Ceci highlights some of the challenges she faced in her journey of becoming a founder, as well as some of the things that inspired her to start Sesamaise. Ceci was also as captured a Los Angeles hidden gem on the Voyage LA blog!

Sesamaise fans in Atlanta had a blast throwing a yoga and #TahiniTogether tasting party. We’d like to thank our friends at Macha and Margs, Food with Feels, and More Than Food and everyone who attended and contributed to the campaign. We hope you enjoyed the tahini!


We had the privilege of participating in a Social Enterprise Alliance-sponsored panel with fellow #LadyBosses and food-for-change business founders, Ren from TrashFish Box, and Rachel from Swipe Out Hunger. It was an evening of great dialogue and inspiration. Sesamaise Tahini was also featured in this weeks’ Social Enterprise Alliance newsletter.

Ceci had a quick trip to New York for an exclusive, influencer-only tahini tasting party with Jamie Stahl from Adventures of Ape! Check out our featured Instagram stories, to see a recap of this party and many other #TahiniTogether tasting parties.

Thursday, March 8th, LA Kitchen is holding their Power of Food event: “Seed to Plate: Middle Easterners Talk Tahini.” This event will aim to build community, inspire food activists, and challenge mainstream notions of the food industry. Come talk tahini with us, as Palestinian Tahini Maker Ala Tamam shares his story and how he makes tahini from scratch, chef Amelia Saltsman shares with us 2 recipes using tahini, and, we share the secrets to making the best tahini sauce around!

Sunday, March 11th, as always, come visit us at the Main Street Santa Monica Farmers’ Market!

Monday, March 12th, Ceci will be pairing up with Lisa from Delicious Table to bring viewers a live cooking show, illustrating the different uses of tahini, and how to incorporate them into meals you might already make! Check in on Facebook to see it live!

Friday evenings in March, Sesamaise is partnering with OneTable to offer TahiniTogether tasting parties as part of their regular Shabbat dinners. Get on their mailing list to find out more!
